Lib Dem Portsmouth City Council has secured a deal with Scottish and Southern Energy Network (SSEN) to provide shore power to ships visiting Portsmouth International Port. This means multiple ships can receive power from the local grid without running their engines.
This week, 292 Conservative MPs voted to allow sewage dumping by water companies in our coasts and rivers for at least 15 more years. In the last two years alone, water companies in England dumped raw sewage 775,568 times over 5,768,679 hours. The new regulations would permit dumping to continue for 15 more years.

For years councils have been forced to sell off council houses and flats. It has been brilliant for the families that bought them, but the Conservative Government would not allow councils to replace the houses and flats sold off. Portsmouth sold off over 16,000, making it much more challenging to home homeless families. But action by the Lib Dem-led City Council is seeing a rebirth in the building and acquiring of council houses.
Households in receipt of pension credit or council tax support will receive £100 from Liberal Democrat-led Portsmouth City Council in a bid to help with the rising cost of living.
